On first acquaintance, the programs of Microsoft Office 2007 appear to represent a big change from earlier versions. This is principally due to the change in what you see on-screen, with familiar menus and toolbars replaced by a new way of accessing the commands and of working with the programs.

Some users we know are finding the move to Office 2007 a bit confusing or frustrating because they have difficulty issuing commands with which they have become accustomed. To help smooth their transition, we offer users our Office 2007 Conversion Workshop.

Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint 2007 are fully equipped with the new user interface of command tabs, command sets and contextual commands.

Outlook 2007 has some of these, but retains some of the old menu/toolbar structure. For some users this split personality is making their new Outlook tricky to adjust to.

Publisher 2007 has none of the new interface.
