Our Intermediate Microsoft Access course is for anyone who has already set up a database using Microsoft Access and now wants to fill in gaps in their basic skills and explore Access's potential to the next stage.
It should also serve anyone who has inherited a database from someone else and now has responsibility for its smooth running.
This course takes one day on-site, normally between 9:30am and 4:30pm.
Completion of our Basic Introduction course or practical experience of applying the skills covered in that course to the creation of your own database.
Table Further work on table design; validation; input masks.
Attaching tables Linking to data outside a database.
Importing Importing data from other sources, including Excel.
Query parameters Making queries respond to user input.
Query expressions Performing calculations and data manipulation from within a query.
Append queries Using an action query to add data to a table.
Update queries Using an action query to change data in a table.
Delete queries Using an action query to remove unwanted records from a table.
Form design Further work on designing; main forms and sub-forms.
Form controls List boxes, combo boxes, command buttons.
Form expressions Calculations and data manipulation within a form.
Pop-up forms Forms for database navigation and data selection.
Reports More on report design; reports and sub-reports; adding sections.
Filtering Techniques for filtering data for a report.
